Barbara Bradley Baekgaard
Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller in 1982 co-founded Vera Bradley, which quickly grew into an internationally recognized organization. Vera Bradley designs, markets and manufacturers handbags, luggage, accessories, paper and gift items and eyewear. Bradley Baekgaard currently serves as a board member of the Indiana University Cancer Center Development. She is also on the board for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, which was founded in 1994 after the personal loss of a dear friend to breast cancer. To date the Foundation has pledged more than $20 million to the Melvin and Bren Simon Indiana University Cancer Center. Bradley Baekgaard attended Marymount College in New York and Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois.
