Dr. Shetal Vohra-Gupta
DR. SHETAL VOHRA-GUPTA is associate director at the Institute for Urban Policy Research and Analysis (IURPA) in Black Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and lecturer at the School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. Vohra-Gupta conducts research at the intersection of race, gender and policy and currently examines issues around pay equity, minimum wage, health outcomes and family leave. Her research has been published in journals such as the Harvard Policy and Law Review, Social Work Review and the American Journal of Nursing. In addition, Vohra-Gupta has written op-eds featured in in the Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, Fort-Worth Star Telegram and Austin American Statesman. She also designed and currently teaches a graduate course titled Introduction to Race, Ethnicity, and Gender in Public Policy. Vohra-Gupta recently received a competitive foundation grant and is currently a public voices fellow for the Op-Ed Project. @utaustin
