Gina Chavez
GINA CHAVEZ is a multi-ethnic, queer, Catholic, Austin native, and internationally-acclaimed Latinx pop artist who is redefining Latin music in Texas and beyond. She is a 12-time Austin Music Award winner, has more than a million views on her NPR Tiny Desk, an hour-long PBS special, and had a 12-country tour through Latin America, the Middle East and Central Asia as a cultural ambassador with the U.S. State Department. Released on May 27, 2020, Chavez’s first all-Spanish language album, La Que Manda, (“The Woman in Charge”) is the story of a woman coming into her own power. To bring these songs to life, Chavez called on a team of heavyweights in the music industry: 16-time Grammy winner Thom Russo (Juanes, Alejandro Sanz, Enrique Iglesias), two-time Grammy winning engineer Fernando Lodeiro (Esperanza Spalding), Grammy award winning musician/composer/producer Adrian Quesada and two-time Latin Grammy winner Linda Briceno, who made history in 2018 as the first woman ever to win Producer of the Year. @ginachavez
