JACKIE BACKES is a successful executive with more than 25 years of retail leadership experience, the last 20 of which she has spent at Target. Currently, she is the Group Vice President of Stores, leading strategy and operations for 80 stores in the South Texas area.  In this role, Jackie and her team are continually focused on putting the guest at the center of everything they do to help fulfill Target’s purpose of ‘Helping all families discover the joy of everyday life’. Jackie joined Target in 2004 as an Executive Team Leader – Softlines in St Louis, Missouri.  Since then, Jackie has held a variety of leadership roles across the country including Store Director, District Senior Director, and currently in her 2nd Group Vice President role. Jackie received her bachelor’s degree in Textile and Apparel – Marketing and Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Jackie and her husband, Scott, enjoy traveling and spending as much time as possible with their two teenage boys.
