MARIAN CABANILLAS is the CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community & State’s South Texas Health Plan. She is responsible for Texas Medicaid products including the STAR, CHIP, STARKids, and STAR+PLUS programs which generate more than $4 billion in revenue annually. Her team consists of more than 1,000 diverse employees that are responsible for provider, member, community, and employee engagement. Cabanillas is committed to addressing the issues of healthcare and disparities in the communities she serves. She has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has worked in the public and private sector, with an emphasis on government programs such as Medicaid, Medicare. Cabanillas was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and has lived in Texas most of her life. She earned her BA in psychology at the University of Houston and her MBA in healthcare administration at the University of Phoenix. She completed the executive development program at the University of Pennsylvania,Wharton School of Business.
