Nancy Levicki
In the summer of 1998, Nancy Levicki put her fashion skills back to work, but this time, it was not for a major retail specialty store. She and her long-time friend Susie Cunningham set out to suit job-ready clients for interviews- and by October 1998, Levicki and a small group of founding board members opened the first Dress for Success รข in the state of Texas. Twelve years later, Dress for Success Houston has served over 30,000 Houston area women and accepts referrals from over 110 non-profit organizations in the city. Levicki’s work, compassion and dedication to serving women in Houston have earned her and Dress for Success Houston countless accolades, including PBS Hero of the Month, the Red Cross’ Humanitarian award and “Woman on the Move” by Texas Executive Women. Dress for Success Houston was also named as the recipient of Oprah’s BigGive. Recently Levicki was named one of fifty most influential women in Houston by Houston Woman Magazine and received the “Woman of Courage award” from the Houston Chapter of Hadassah. In December 2010 The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce named Dress for Success the Non-Profit of the Year. Levicki is the author of three books: “The College Cookbook for Students by Students,” and “Your Housekeeper’s Cookbook.” She co-authored “Awesome Teen,” a lifestyle guide for teenagers.
