Patricia Gras is an ardent storyteller, whether it is using the medium of television or music. She has a background of life experiences as diverse as the city she covers. Her current award-winning show “Living Smart” with Patricia Gras is now airing on over 200 PBS channels across the country. Across her career, has produced and hosted some of the most respected television programs in Houston, including, “Latina Voices: Smart Talk with Minerva Perez and Sofia Adrogue,” “Houston Have your Say,” “Galveston La Isla Bonita,” “Almanac” and “Weeknight Edition” and also served as backup anchor for the statewide political show, “Capitol Report.” She has also covered a full spectrum of subjects for Houston PBS. Her national producing credits include “Weight Loss Surgery, The Last Resort,” “Taiwan: An Emerging Democracy,” “Supersized America” and her own television series, “Living Smart.” Gras’ international concerns have taken her twice to Romania, to Taiwan and to Vietnam. Gras has interviewed notables ranging from former presidents, to award-winning writers, international dignitaries and Nobel Peace Prize winners. Gras is the recipient of more than 170 journalism awards, including six regional and Lone Star Emmy Awards and 16 national Tellys. Gras speaks five languages and holds three master’s degrees including a master’s in journalism from Columbia University in New York.
