Yvonne Nava
YVONNE NAVA can be found behind the desk, weekday mornings from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM on KVUE News Daybreak. Born and raised in Laredo, she jumped into journalism at the age of eighteen when she started reporting for Telemundo. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, she spent the next two decades reporting and anchoring across the country. From Connecticut to Miami, Florida and Knoxville, Tennessee- Nava served as a breaking news reporter and anchor. She’s covered everything from hurricanes and Fidel Castro, to the Columbia space shuttle disaster and the capture of the Olympic Park bomber in North Carolina. Since moving back to Austin in 2012, she has become an integral part of our city’s number one morning newscast. Nava volunteers with the American Parkinson Disease Association, the American Heart Association, Manos de Cristo and Meals on Wheels. She also enjoys mentoring young girls because she remembers how impressionable she was as that age. @yv
